Australian singer-songwriter Dean Lewis asserts that secretly recorded conversations were maliciously edited to depict him as a sexual predator. He claims a sustained online campaign, initiated by a deceptive TikTok post, has falsely alleged criminal conduct against him and damaged his international standing. Lewis acknowledges a history of flirting with adult women but maintains all his interactions have been consensual and legal. He has engaged lawyers internationally to address these claims, sending concern notices to several women.
One such notice was sent to a 19-year-old British woman who had a significant online following among his fans. She allegedly posted a selectively edited audio clip on TikTok, which quickly gained millions of views before removal. Lewis states this altered recording wrongly suggests he engages in sexually predatory conduct toward underage girls. The campaign has reportedly led to the end of his recording contract and caused him significant emotional distress.
In response to the allegations, Lewis publicly apologized for any discomfort caused and expressed hurt at suggestions of illegal behavior. He also announced he was seeking therapy to improve his approach to dating and relationships. Despite these steps, Universal Music Australia confirmed they had parted ways with him in January 2026. Lewis has offered to resolve the complaint with the 19-year-old fan out of court, requesting removal of content, a retraction, and an apology.
