This role represents Deacon Phillippe's second acting appearance. He previously made his acting debut in 2022 on Netflix's series "Never Have I Ever." In that show, he played Parker, a classmate. Show creator Mindy Kaling noted that Witherspoon had mentioned her son's acting aspirations, leading to his casting on the popular teen comedy.
