10 Feb
Summary
- Actor David Thewlis is tired of questions about returning to Harry Potter.
- He feels too old to reprise his role as Remus Lupin.
- Thewlis still enjoys meeting young fans who are impressed by his work.

Actor David Thewlis has voiced his strong disinterest in reprising his role as Remus Lupin in any future Harry Potter adaptations, including the upcoming HBO TV series. Thewlis stated he is "sick of talking about" a potential return, feeling he is now too old to play the character he first embodied in 2004's "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban."
While he has had enough of discussing the franchise's future, Thewlis shared that he cherishes interactions with young fans who are impressed by his performance. He made his debut as Professor Remus Lupin in "Prisoner of Azkaban" and appeared in subsequent films until 2011's "Deathly Hallows - Part 2."
The Harry Potter saga is currently being re-imagined through Audible's audiobooks and HBO's new television series. Game of Thrones actor Iwan Rheon voices Remus Lupin in the Audible production. In HBO's adaptation, Lupin's character is not expected to appear until the third season, as each season will adapt one book.
