David Oyelowo Joins Indie Film 'Little Five'

David Oyelowo has joined the principal cast of 'Little Five,' an independent film produced by Somewhere Pictures and Pigasus Pictures. He will star alongside previously announced talent Ariana Greenblatt and Rain Spencer, with Sasha Frolova, Nadia Alexander, Drew Powell, and Max Cortezi also added to the cast.

The film, directed by Ian Samuels and written by Gillian Williams, draws inspiration from Indiana University's iconic Little 500 cycling race. It tells the compelling story of a group of young women who challenge traditional norms, form an unexpected team, and redefine achievement through resilience and friendship.

Oyelowo is slated to play Randall, a former cycling champion whose own athletic aspirations were curtailed. Pulled back into the sport, Randall evolves into an unlikely mentor, guiding new athletes while confronting his personal journey. The production is helmed by Zachary Spicer, Anne Hathaway, Adam Shulman, and Johnathan Rice.

The narrative aims to capture the essence of an era characterized by ambition, significant risks, memorable music, and the pioneering women who reshaped collegiate sports.
