Never-Before-Streamed 'Das Boot' Seasons Arrive in U.S.
7 May
Summary
- MHz Choice acquired all four seasons of the WWII U-boat series.
- Previously unstreamed seasons will now be available in the U.S.
- Season 1 premieres on July 7, with subsequent seasons to follow.

The acclaimed World War II U-boat series, Das Boot, is set to be fully available on streaming service MHz Choice, which has acquired all four seasons. This acquisition includes seasons that have never previously streamed in the United States. The first season is scheduled to debut on July 7, with the second season following on August 4. Subsequent seasons will be released on a weekly basis, though premiere dates for seasons three and four have not yet been announced.
The series, inspired by the 1981 film, follows the perilous journey of a German U-boat crew in 1942, while parallel storylines unfold on land involving a young woman navigating the French Resistance and Gestapo. This marks the second instance of MHz Choice making a European drama accessible in its entirety to U.S. viewers, following the popular series Babylon Berlin.
Das Boot boasts a notable cast, including Franz Dinda, Tom Wlaschiha, Rick Okon, Rainer Bock, Fleur Geffrier, Vicky Krieps, Vincent Kartheiser, and Lizzy Caplan. The deal was made with NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution, and MHz Choice also secured rights to other European series such as Dostoyevsky and Piedone - A Cop in Naples from Italy, and Drift - Partners in Crime from Germany, all originally produced for Sky.
