Darkwing Duck Reboot Loses Original Voice Actor

Voice actor Jim Cummings has confirmed he will not be reprising his iconic role as Darkwing Duck in the long-developing reboot of the animated series.
Cummings stated that he recorded a pilot for the project several years ago to gauge its viability. However, the show has since shifted direction, resulting in new actors being cast for both Darkwing Duck and the character Launchpad McQuack.
The original "Darkwing Duck" series, created by Tad Stones, originally aired for three seasons and 91 episodes in the early 1990s. The character did, however, make an appearance in the recent "DuckTales" reboot, where Cummings reprised his role.
A reboot produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's Point Grey was reported to be in development back in 2020. Cummings had previously hinted at his continued involvement earlier in 2026.
