AMC has announced the renewal of its popular noir drama "Dark Winds" for a fifth season, ensuring the continuation of the series less than two weeks before its fourth season premiere. The upcoming fifth season will consist of eight hour-long episodes, mirroring the structure of previous seasons.
Filming for Season 5 is scheduled to commence in Santa Fe, New Mexico, in March, with an anticipated premiere in 2027. The series, which debuted in 2022, follows officers of the Navajo Tribal Police as they investigate crimes on their reservation in the 1970s.
The fourth season of "Dark Winds" is set to premiere on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at 9/8c on AMC and AMC+. This season will see Lt. Joe Leaphorn, Jim Chee, and Bernadette Manuelito pursue a missing Navajo girl, leading them from the Navajo Nation to 1970s Los Angeles to confront an obsessive killer.
