Assassin hunts teens, police in hot pursuit

In the wake of a deadly diner shootout, the Diné Tribal Police are on high alert. The episode "Bikéé' Doo Éédahoozįįdę́ę́góó (Toward Their Unknown Paths)" opens with young Diné siblings Billie and Albert on the run, seeking a man named Leroy to resolve their troubles. Their flight is complicated by the arrival of a relentless assassin, portrayed by Franka Potente, who engages in a violent confrontation at the diner, resulting in fatalities.

Lt. Joe Leaphorn, contemplating retirement and his successor, feels pressure as the investigation unfolds. He and Officer Manuelito track clues from the diner, learning the assassin purchased coolant, indicating the runaways are heading toward an unknown destination. Meanwhile, Leaphorn visits the clinic and discovers his estranged wife, Emma, has moved to Los Angeles, signifying a new chapter for him.

Albert, wounded during the diner incident, is tended to by Billie in a motel room as the assassin closes in. Tribal police officers Chee and Manuelito also arrive, searching for the runaways. The pursuit intensifies as the young couple attempts to evade capture, leading to a chaotic scene at the clinic where Albert attempts to steal a car before the assassin intervenes.

In a desolate area, the police discover Albert's body in a death hogan, a traditional Diné dwelling. Chee enters the hogan despite warnings and experiences troubling visions and a nosebleed, suggesting a supernatural or intense psychological encounter. The episode leaves the fate of Billie and the motivations of the assassin unresolved, deepening the season's mysteries.
