Summary
- Danielle Fishel's 6-year-old son Adler learned his first curse word: "ass"
- Fishel's husband, Jensen Karp, cleverly redirected Adler to use "butt" instead
- Rider Strong allows his 10-year-old son to swear at home, but not in public

In a recent episode of the "Pod Meets World" podcast, actress Danielle Fishel, 44, shared a parenting dilemma she faced with her 6-year-old son, Adler. Fishel revealed that Adler had learned his first curse word - "ass" - and used it in a sentence about beating someone up. Fishel's quick-thinking husband, Jensen Karp, stepped in with a clever response, telling Adler that "ass" is another word for "butt" and that they prefer he use the word "butt" instead.
This incident comes after Fishel shared that her older son, Keaton, 4, has been trying to figure out the meaning of the F-word for years. Keaton once told Fishel, "I know what the F-word is," only to reveal that he thought it was "Freakin'." Fishel and Karp have made a conscious effort to avoid cursing around their children, a strategy that Fishel's former Boy Meets World co-star, Rider Strong, has taken a different approach to.
During the same podcast episode, Strong, 45, shared that he allows his 10-year-old son, Indy, to swear at home, but not in front of other adults or children. Strong explained that this approach led to Indy going through a "swear fest" phase, but eventually, he exhausted himself. Strong's wife, Alexandra Baretto, has recently decided to try and reduce her own cursing, which has proven to be a costly goal, with Indy earning $1 for every time she slips up.
