The renowned Dang Darbar, one of the region's oldest traditional events dating back to 1842, is set to return to Ahwa with significant fanfare. This year's celebration is scheduled to take place from February 26 to March 3.
Organized annually by the government since its inception, the festival commences with a ceremonial procession of the region's kings and their associates. A key tradition involves the government presenting annuities to these royal members at the main venue. This year, these esteemed individuals will receive special recognition on two occasions.
Governor Acharya Devvrat is slated to attend the festivities on March 2nd. On this date, members of the erstwhile royal families will once again be honored with political pensions at Rang Upvan. The event promises vibrant cultural performances.
The inauguration will feature a colorful ceremony with music, song, and dance. A grand royal procession, featuring the world-famous Dangi dance alongside other folk performances, will precede the formal opening. District administration has ensured comprehensive arrangements, including security, sanitation, and facilities, to ensure a smooth and accessible experience for all attendees.
