Horror Icon's Son Taps Dane Cook for New Thriller

Jeff Barker, a screenwriter and father of director Curry Barker, will write and direct the psychological horror short film 'Medium Rare.' The project is set to star Dane Cook and Lesley Ann Warren, with production scheduled to commence in Los Angeles later this summer. The film will center on a man whose perception of reality begins to warp within the confines of a bar.

Barker, who has a background in horror including script consultation on his son's hit film 'Obsession,' aims to bring his eight-year-old short story to life. 'Medium Rare' follows in the tradition of short films serving as launching pads for directors, much like Curry Barker's short 'The Chair' which led to 'Obsession.'

Dane Cook, known for his comedy albums and film roles, takes on the lead. Lesley Ann Warren, an Oscar-nominated actress recognized for 'Victor/Victoria,' will also feature. Additional casting for 'Medium Rare' is pending.
