Dadasaheb Phalke Biopic Delayed Indefinitely Amid Scheduling Conflicts
7 Oct
Summary
- Dadasaheb Phalke biopic 'Made in India' delayed due to scheduling conflicts
- Jr NTR and Prabhas, initially considered for lead roles, unavailable
- SS Rajamouli busy with 'SSMB29', Prabhas occupied through 2025-2026

As of October 7th, 2025, the highly anticipated Dadasaheb Phalke biopic 'Made in India' has faced a significant setback, as the project has been delayed indefinitely. The film, which was to be directed by Nitin Kakkar, had been in the news for some time, with reports suggesting that either Jr NTR or Prabhas might take on the lead role.
However, recent updates indicate that the scheduling conflicts have caused a delay in the production. It appears that Jr NTR, the 'RRR' star, had initially been the top choice for the project, but his packed calendar with upcoming major films, including one with Prashanth Neel and Koratala Siva, has made it difficult for the makers to finalize his dates.
Similarly, Prabhas, who was also considered as a replacement, is also unavailable for the foreseeable future. According to a report by Mid-Day, the 'Salaar' actor will remain occupied through 2025 and 2026, as he is expected to begin shooting for Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Spirit' later this year and will subsequently move to 'Kalki 2898 AD: Part 2', directed by Nag Ashwin.

Given these timelines, the 'Made in India' team has had no option but to delay the production until a suitable schedule opens up. Meanwhile, SS Rajamouli, the ace filmmaker, is busy with the work of Mahesh Babu starrer grand adventure thriller, 'SSMB29'.
