Cynthia Erivo acted as a peacemaker when a young fan was "taken to the ground" by a security guard outside the Noel Coward Theatre in London. Erivo, currently starring in the one-woman show "Dracula," was seen comforting the distressed fan, identified as Lewis, and urging him to "take a breath, baby." She expressed her sorrow, stating, "I'm so sorry that happened to you. I can see you are hurt, I understand." Lewis recounted the event, emphasizing he was "attacked" and not an angry person.
The Metropolitan Police are reportedly investigating the incident. The theatre, where Erivo performs her role in "Dracula" from February 4 to May 31, noted that the security guard was not one of their employees. An insider described the situation as "horrible" and indicated the guard's actions were potentially to prevent a situation from escalating. Erivo, known for her warmth, was reportedly upset by the altercation and aimed to de-escalate the tension.
