Beverly Hills' legendary celebrity hot spot, Crustacean, is set to close its doors after three decades. The acclaimed Asian fusion restaurant, famed for its top-secret garlic noodle recipe, announced its departure from its Santa Monica Boulevard and Bedford Drive location. This comes after the sale of the building housing the restaurant, with the new landlord reportedly having other plans for the property that do not suit Crustacean.
The announcement has sparked emotional reactions from fans and celebrity patrons, including Chrissy Teigen and Bozoma Saint John, who have shared their dismay on social media. Crustacean has indicated that its final service will extend through July 29. To bridge the gap, the restaurant will operate pop-ups at its sister venues, Tiato Kitchen + Venue in Santa Monica and AnQi Bistro in South Coast Plaza, until the end of the year.
Elizabeth An, CEO of the House of An restaurant group, mentioned that the family was initially caught off guard by the timeline. The An family is actively exploring future relocation options, with potential sites in Calabasas or Pasadena being considered. Crustacean also maintains a location in San Francisco.
