- Chahal and Dhanashree filed for mutual divorce in February 2025

In October 2025, Yuzvendra Chahal's sister, Kenaa Dwivedi, has come to the cricketer's defense amid his divorce controversy. In a heartfelt message for Bhai Dooj, Kenaa lauded Chahal for his respectful behavior towards women and his ability to maintain calm composure even in difficult situations.
Kenaa's post comes just days after Chahal's ex-wife, Dhanashree Verma, opened up about their relationship on the reality show 'Rise and Fall'. Dhanashree revealed that their marriage was an arranged one, with Chahal being certain about her from the beginning, while she took time to be convinced. However, Dhanashree noticed subtle changes in Chahal's behavior after their marriage, leading to their eventual divorce in February 2025.
Despite the challenges, Dhanashree said she tried her best to make the marriage work and gave it her "hundred per cent". Chahal and Dhanashree first met during online dance classes amid the COVID-19 lockdown and got married in December 2024. Their divorce was finalized in March 2025 through a mutual agreement, with no issues or talk of alimony.
