Sega is revitalizing its classic Crazy Taxi series with Crazy Taxi World Tour, slated for a 2027 release. This upcoming installment is poised to offer an open-world MMO-like experience, marking a significant evolution for the franchise since its last entry in 2017.
The initial trailer showcased a blend of familiar elements and new adventures. Players can anticipate a return to a San Francisco-esque urban environment, alongside excursions to other diverse global locales as suggested by the game's title. Expect quirky passenger requests, such as those involving massive stacks of pizza boxes, and unexpected sights like sharks leaping from the ocean.
Nostalgia plays a key role, with the trailer featuring "All I Want" by The Offspring, the iconic track from the original game. Crazy Taxi World Tour is scheduled to launch in 2027 for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox on PC, Steam, PlayStation 5, and the Nintendo Switch 2.
