The Today show hosts celebrated a significant career achievement for their colleague, Craig Melvin, on October 22, 2026. After a month-long campaign, Melvin was officially voted People Magazine's Sexiest Morning Show Host in the Readers' Choice Poll. He secured the 'Hotter Than Your Morning Cup of Coffee' award against competitors from rival networks.
Carson Daly announced the win, presenting Melvin with a celebratory stash, a crown, and a towel. Co-hosts Savannah Guthrie and Al Roker joined in the cheers, with Guthrie humorously noting that his visible sweat was due to his new 'hot' status. Melvin, after a moment of feigned reluctance, accepted the accolades.
Melvin playfully acknowledged the behind-the-scenes efforts, thanking his mother and wife for their numerous votes. He also humorously apologized to guest Dame Helen Mirren for the on-air silliness. Earlier campaign efforts included a fan in D.C. using a yard skeleton to promote votes, and a personal video from Melvin's wife, Lindsay Czarniak, highlighting his character and personal attributes, including his dimple, as reasons for his sexiness.
