Craig Charles has disclosed a harrowing experience where he narrowly escaped death after suffering a heart attack, mirroring the fatal event that took his brother Dean. Appearing on I'm A Celebrity... South Africa, the 61-year-old actor shared his health struggles, revealing he is on significant daily medication and has undergone a procedure to insert four stents into his heart due to narrow arteries.

Charles recounted the frightening episode, including his wife Jackie's crucial role in seeking medical help. He described his alarming symptoms, such as tingling jaws, and his wife's sister, a nurse, urging him to call an ambulance. His wife’s timely arrival and subsequent call to emergency services led to the discovery that he was experiencing a heart attack, with doctors noting he was only receiving 35% blood flow to his heart. The successful stent placement restored blood flow to 100%, saving his life.

Reflecting on his brother's passing, Charles noted the genetic link and his brother's similar condition. He expressed regret over not responding to his brother Dean's final texts before his death from a blood clot in 2014, a tragedy that occurred shortly after Charles began his first stint on the jungle reality show.
