The country song "I'll Take You," originally conceived as a ballad, has been successfully reimagined into an uptempo hit by artist Ben Gallaher. Songwriters Wendell Mobley, Neil Thrasher, and Tony Martin initially developed the song with a core theme of making choices, encapsulated by the line "I'll take you over anybody any day."
The demo version, produced by Mobley with Thrasher on lead vocals, was delivered in November 2022 but didn't immediately gain traction, with the writers themselves feeling it was unfinished. Ben Gallaher, however, repeatedly listened to the ballad and felt its potential for a faster tempo.
Working with producer Neil Thrasher, Gallaher initiated the transformation by developing an intro guitar riff that felt intrinsically suited to the song. They collectively reshaped the melody and structure, adapting it into a more joyful and energetic track, akin to turning an old car into a hot rod.
The final version, produced by Neil Thrasher and Patrick Thrasher, was recorded on June 23, 2025, at Nashville's Sound Stage. Gallaher performed lead vocals and guitar parts, aiming for a consistent tone across his contributions. Released to country radio on January 26, "I'll Take You" has become a personal anthem for Gallaher, symbolizing devotion to loved ones or any deeply cherished aspect of life.
