However, he was unable to crack the 12th question worth ₹12.50 lakh, which asked about the English actor who worked with Supriya Pathak in the 1988 film The Bengali Night.
The correct answer was Hugh Grant, who played the role of Allan, a young European engineer in Calcutta, opposite Indian actress Supriya Pathak's character Gayatri. The Bengali Night, an Indo-French production directed by Nicolas Klotz, was based on the autobiographical novel of the same name by Mircea Eliade and revolved around a cross-cultural romance set in colonial India. This was one of Hugh Grant's earliest roles before his Hollywood breakthrough in films like Notting Hill and Four Weddings and a Funeral.
