Concert Chaos: Indian fans disrespect global stars

Singer Akriti Kakar has publicly condemned the growing trend of audience misbehavior at music concerts, impacting both Indian and international artists. Recent events, including a fan's actions towards Karan Aujla and Akon having his pants pulled down, have prompted Kakar to speak out against what she describes as disrespectful treatment of guests.

She highlighted the irony of fans spending considerable money on tickets only to engage in such behavior, stressing that all performers deserve respect regardless of ticket cost. Kakar contrasted this with past experiences where female singers endured harassment, noting that the age of smartphones and social media has made such actions more accountable and less frequent.

The incident with Akon occurred on November 14 during his performance. Despite the discomfort, he continued his tour. Kakar emphasized that while accountability has improved for women due to increased visibility, the overall audience etiquette needs to be mandated to ensure a positive experience for artists and fans alike.
