Comedian Deactivates Instagram After Biryani Remark Backlash

Comedian Pranit More has reportedly deactivated his Instagram account amidst growing criticism online. The move follows a social media uproar over a viral crowdwork clip from his stand-up show. The clip featured an audience member suggesting that spending approximately Rs 370 on a chicken biryani for a date entitled him to physical intimacy.

Influencers and users on social media widely criticized both the audience member's comments and More's decision to share the interaction, labeling it as a normalization of inappropriate behavior. The individual at the center of the controversy, identified as Himanshu Jangra from Gurugram, Haryana, later apologized and had his company terminate his employment.

Pranit More himself issued an apology on Instagram, acknowledging that he should have challenged the audience member's remark instead of laughing it off. He stated that the comments did not reflect his views and that his reaction was a lapse in judgment.
