The popular Art Street event, a highlight of Coimbatore Vizha, has officially commenced. This year's ninth edition sees 90 artists from various South Indian states, including Coimbatore, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Kerala, gathering to display their diverse artistic talents and concepts.
The exhibition features an impressive range of art forms, such as thread art, wood art, items crafted from coconut shells, sand art, mural paintings, clay art, stone art, pencil sculptures, and miniature wooden creations. Visitors can also admire hand-painted postcards, crochet dolls, portraits, and innovative reverse paintings.
Several artists are using the platform to share their personal journeys. A young pencil sculptor highlighted the challenges and rewards of his unique art form, while a housewife found peace and a new passion through Lippan art. Another artist from Chennai is showcasing her 2D animation and miniature works, reflecting a blend of professional skill and personal passion.
