Clooney Cautions Against AI's Threat to Hollywood's Star-Making Formula

In a recent interview, acclaimed actor George Clooney expressed his concerns over the increasing use of AI in Hollywood. Clooney stated that the "Sora 2 stuff" had "shaken everybody" in the industry, as the quality of AI-generated content had improved significantly, making it "scary."

Clooney acknowledged that AI will face the same challenges as Hollywood in terms of creating stars, as the intangible qualities that make someone a star are difficult to replicate. He has also seen unauthorized AI versions of himself online, which he described as "really actually awful" and "dangerous" for both himself and his family.

Meanwhile, Eline Van der Velden, the creator of the controversial AI character Tilly Norwood, revealed that she is already working with studios to provide AI content for movies. Van der Velden predicted that the industry will see "plenty of effects" made with AI in the coming year, with the eventual progression to full AI feature films, which she believes audiences "won't know the difference" from human-made content, as long as the storytelling is compelling.

The Duffer Brothers, the creators of the hit Netflix series "Stranger Things," also shared that a theatrical release for the show has been "a dream of ours for a while," suggesting that the industry may be exploring new avenues for distributing content in the face of these technological advancements.
