5 Oct
Summary
- Clockwork label will transition to the new Paramount Warner Bros merger.
- The label aims to attract edgy filmmakers with moderate budgets.
- First release is a restored 4K version of 'The Devils' on Oct. 16.
The contemporary film label Clockwork, previously under Warner Bros and led by Christian Parkes, is set to join the new Skydance-Paramount merger. This transition was indicated by its appearance on an internal Warner Bros list at Paramount. Established by former Warner Bros executives, Clockwork's purpose was to provide a platform for edgy filmmakers and produce two to three moderate-budgeted films annually, aiming for an A24-like market impact.
Clockwork will operate alongside Paramount's global acquisition division and Republic Pictures. The label's inaugural release, scheduled for October 16, will be a 4K restoration of Ken Russell's 1971 film 'The Devils,' known for its controversial themes. Future projects under Clockwork include Sean Bailey's 'Ti Amo!' and Park Chan-Wook's western 'The Brigands of Rattlecreek,' starring Matthew McConaughey and Austin Butler. Additionally, a film focused on the January 6th Capitol riots is part of Clockwork's portfolio.
