Toronto-based production company Clever Creature Inc. is preparing to bring its latest genre-blending project, "For the Good of the Herd," to the American Film Market. The film, which is set to begin principal photography in the U.K. this November, has attached Haley Bishop of the acclaimed horror hit "Host" to star in the lead role.
Directed by Mark Pritchard, "For the Good of the Herd" is a chilling exploration of the lengths people will go to in order to survive when society collapses. The story blends elements of survivalist horror with a psychological thriller, following the protagonist Zoe, a character haunted by her past who must tap into her darker instincts to make it through.
According to Pritchard, the film "examines the impact of malign belief structures, the sheer will it takes to deny them, and the lengths a human can go to in serving a conceit of truth." Haley Bishop, who will portray Zoe, is equally enthusiastic about the project, describing it as a "bold and exhilarating take on horror" that allows her to embrace the role of a "badass final girl."
Clever Creature's managing partner, Michaelangelo Masangkay, has expressed excitement about bringing this genre-driven, boundary-pushing film to audiences worldwide. The project represents the kind of bold, creative filmmaking that the company is passionate about championing.
