India's classical arts were celebrated at the 31st quarterly baithak, hosted by Pracheen Kala Kendra. This "Legends of Tomorrow" event featured an evening of refined music and tradition at Triveni Kala Sangam. The program commenced with lighting of the lamp by distinguished guests. Vocalist Rashmi Choudhary opened the performances with Raag Bhopali, progressing to a vilambit composition and a bandish. She further impressed with recitals of the intricate raga Yamni Basant and a festive Hori. Her performance was enhanced by the sensitive accompaniment of tabla player Pankaj Choudhary and harmonium exponent Devendra Verma. The evening then transitioned to tabla maestro Ilmas Khan, who presented the rhythmic brilliance of the Lucknow gharana. He captivated the audience with a traditional peshkar, expansive improvisations, and vibrant compositions. Sarangi artist Ghanshyam Sisodia's evocative accompaniment added significant depth to Khan's recital.
