Clarks Summit Arts & Music Fest Ignites Local Shops

Clarks Summit is set to host 'Fourth Fridays,' a new monthly event dedicated to showcasing local artistic talent and encouraging community engagement with businesses. The initiative, organized by the Abington Business and Professional Association, begins this Friday and will continue on the fourth Friday of July, August, and September, running from 5-8 p.m. This event provides a platform for artists and musicians to perform and display their creations within and around local establishments.

Over 25 artists are slated to exhibit and sell their work at approximately 20 participating businesses along State Street and in surrounding areas like South Abington Township and Clarks Green. The event, which will proceed rain or shine, also includes business promotions, pop-up shops, and food and drink offerings. Milena DelVecchio, the association's treasurer, noted that the shift to Fridays from previous Saturday events was strategic to avoid competing with similar initiatives in neighboring towns, with the fourth Friday chosen to establish a unique identity.

Association member Cara Colombo has developed a map to guide attendees to the various artist and musician locations. Organizers hope the event will not only increase visibility for local businesses and arts but also encourage residents to explore and discover new places within Clarks Summit. The success of Fourth Fridays could lead to its continuation into the fall season, depending on community support and participation.
