On October 16, 2025, leading Korean entertainment company CJ ENM announced a multi-year strategic partnership with global media giant Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD). The deal will see the two companies co-invest in and co-produce original Korean dramas for global distribution on HBO Max.
Beginning in early 2026, HBO Max subscribers in 17 markets across the Asia Pacific region, including Southeast Asia, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, will gain access to a branded TVING hub that will premiere new Korean dramas and showcase CJ ENM's extensive library of scripted and unscripted titles. Ahead of the TVING hub launch, several K-content titles will roll out on HBO Max starting in November 2025, led by the premiere of the highly anticipated drama "Dear X."
The partnership marks WBD's most significant commitment to date to the rapidly growing Korean content market, which has captivated global audiences with its creativity and originality. CJ ENM, the studio behind acclaimed titles like Parasite and Crash Landing on You, aims to further expand the reach of Korean storytelling worldwide through this landmark collaboration.
"We are honored to partner with CJ ENM, a true leader in creating universally popular stories that resonate worldwide," said WBD CEO David Zaslav. "This collaboration marks a cornerstone of our commitment to great locally relevant stories in key markets around the world."
