Kavita Gupta's Cineroost Boards Vats' New Film

Kavita Gupta's U.S.-based company, Cineroost, has joined as a producer for Prateek Vats' second feature film, "Chronicles of a Confession." Cineroost will oversee the film's global representation and U.S. market strategies, contributing to its production.

Written by Vidur Nauriyal, Vats, and Shubham, the film's narrative follows a Kashmiri shawl seller who falsely admits to a crime. This act initiates a sequence of unforeseen consequences.

The script received support from the Busan International Film Festival's Asian Cinema Fund for script development. "Chronicles of a Confession" begins shooting in early November.

Anurag Kashyap and Payal Kapadia are serving as executive producers. Kashyap expressed admiration for Vats' script, stating he envies its quality and was compelled to join as an executive producer due to its strength and association with Kapadia and producer Ranjan Singh.

Cineroost's involvement marks a significant step in building its film portfolio. Gupta emphasized her passion for nurturing creative voices and enabling impactful stories, viewing film business as a source of soul and passion rather than sustenance.
