Jaswir Kaur, a familiar face on Indian television, has shared details about her abrupt exit from the popular crime show CID, where she played Inspector Kajal. Appearing on a podcast, Kaur recounted a distressing period approximately 14 years ago, between 2010 and 2012, which profoundly impacted her career. She stated that an incident she described as 'black magic' preceded her dismissal from the show.
Following this alleged incident, Kaur was called to the production office and informed of her termination. She claims she was accused of having a wrong attitude, a bad walk, taking scripts without lines, and using foul language. These accusations, she said, left her shocked and emotionally devastated, leading to 45 days of continuous crying.
Despite her efforts and discussions with the show's makers over 45 days to understand and resolve the situation, her pleas were unsuccessful. Kaur revealed that she kept the true reason for her exit private for years, with only close friends aware of the situation. The aftermath was severe, as she experienced a professional drought for nearly seven years, surviving on limited work and income tax returns.
Jaswir Kaur has since rebuilt her career and is currently a cast member of the television series Anupamaa, portraying the character Devika Mehta.
