Chyler Leigh, known for her role on 'Grey's Anatomy,' has expressed profound regret over not meeting her former co-star Eric Dane in person. Leigh, who portrayed Lexie Grey opposite Dane's Mark Sloan, shared that logistical challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic prevented their meeting.
Leigh was filming 'Supergirl' in Vancouver at the time and was unable to travel to the 'Grey's Anatomy' set for a specific sequence due to a mandatory two-week quarantine upon return. Consequently, she had to film her scenes remotely using a green screen.
This missed encounter is Leigh's biggest regret concerning Dane, whom she described as a "wonderful human being." The actors' characters, Mark and Lexie, who had a significant romantic storyline, were reunited in a dream sequence for the show after their characters' deaths.
Eric Dane, who also appeared in 'Euphoria,' passed away on February 13, 2026, after being diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). His death has deeply impacted his former colleagues.
