- Hearst Foundations honored for 50-year partnership.

The Venice Family Clinic will present its inaugural lifetime achievement award to television producer Chuck Lorre at the HEART Gala on April 18. This event, held at Culver City's 3Labs, will also honor philanthropist Anissa Balson and The Hearst Foundations with a HEART Award. The gala is designed to highlight how art and compassion enhance healthcare access in Los Angeles.
Lorre's recognition stems from his significant contributions to the clinic, including co-founding the Robert Levine Family Health Center in 2004 and underwriting major renovations in 2017. He also funded the comprehensive renovation of the Rose Avenue flagship, now named the Chuck Lorre Rose Avenue Health and Wellness Center, which reopened in 2023.
Anissa Balson and The Hearst Foundations are celebrated for their extraordinary 50-year partnership with the clinic, which began in 1977. Balson, a board member of the foundations, has championed transformative investments. The foundations provided emergency grants during the pandemic and wildfires, ensuring uninterrupted care for vulnerable residents.
Venice Family Clinic CEO Dr. Mitesh Popat expressed gratitude, stating that the honorees exemplify how art, generosity, and vision create lasting change. The clinic remains committed to providing care, resources, and advocacy for its patients and communities.
