Actress Christy Carlson Romano Faces Health Scare

Actress Christy Carlson Romano disclosed on Tuesday that she received concerning results from a recent cancer screening. The 41-year-old "Even Stevens" star, who has a family history of cancer, decided to get screened after the recent death of actor James Van Der Beek from colorectal cancer.

Romano explained that while her husband's screening was negative, hers was not. Both her parents and maternal grandmother had battled cancer, with her father and grandmother succumbing to the disease.

She is currently awaiting a PET scan to ascertain if she has a formal cancer diagnosis. Romano also revealed she is in a dispute with insurance companies to cover the cost of the scan, expressing her nervousness and fear.

The actress shared this news during a vulnerable period, also reflecting on being shot in the face approximately 367 days prior while shooting clay pigeons with her husband. Romano emphasized the importance of screenings, especially as she is raising two young daughters, Isabella, 9, and Sofia, 7.
