Actor Christopher Lloyd has revealed a particular 'what-if' scenario from the production of "Back to the Future Part III." In his recently released memoir, "In My Own Time," Lloyd discusses a scene where he was meant to ride a horse alongside a speeding steam-engine train.
During the sequence, Lloyd's character, Doc Brown, was supposed to get close enough to the train to grab a handle. However, he was strictly instructed not to attempt the maneuver himself, with stunt professionals ready to take over. Lloyd admits he felt capable of performing the stunt but ultimately followed directions to avoid undue risk.
Despite adhering to safety protocols, Lloyd expressed that the decision not to attempt the grab still causes him to reflect. He stated that watching the scene invariably brings a pang of regret, wondering what might have happened if he had proceeded. Nonetheless, "Back to the Future Part III" holds a special place for him, being his favorite film of the entire trilogy.
