Christopher Jackson, a celebrated original cast member of the Broadway hit "Hamilton," is set to return to the stage. He will reprise his Tony Award-nominated role as George Washington at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. His engagement is scheduled from September 8 through January 3.
Jackson stated his motivation for returning stems from a desire to reconnect with the production that profoundly shaped him as an artist. He was inspired to come back after attending the show's 10th-anniversary events last year, feeling a renewed sense of artistic vitality.
"Hamilton," which concluded its original Broadway run in November 2016 after beginning off-Broadway in early 2015, garnered 11 Tony Awards. Jackson, who previously starred in "The Lion King" and "The Electric Company," also contributed his talents to "Moana" and television dramas.
Jackson acknowledged that while he has remained busy with projects such as "Bull" and "And Just Like That," no other role has presented the artistic challenge he experienced in "Hamilton." He looks forward to creating new profound artistic moments in his "favorite building in New York."
