Actress Christina Applegate has responded to circulating reports of her hospitalization in Los Angeles earlier this year. She took to Instagram on April 20, 2026, to reassure fans, stating, "Health issues are a constant for me, but I'm a strong chick and I'm getting stronger and better every day." Applegate confirmed she is taking time to focus on her health and anticipates speaking more about it soon.
Applegate’s representative, Ame Vanlden, declined to confirm the hospitalization but acknowledged the actress's "long history of complicated medical conditions." The star, diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2021, has openly shared the disease's impact. She noted in a 2025 podcast episode that she had been hospitalized "upwards of 30 times" since her diagnosis. Symptoms, including mobility and balance issues, have made public appearances challenging. She previously described severe pain and numbness associated with MS.
Multiple sclerosis is a chronic neurological disorder where the immune system damages the protective myelin sheath around nerve cells. This damage hinders communication between the brain and body, leading to symptoms like vision problems, muscle weakness, fatigue, and cognitive changes. Currently, there is no known cause or cure for MS.
