Chrissy Teigen Ditches Turkey for Smoky Thanksgiving Feast

In November 2025, Chrissy Teigen revealed her family's holiday plans to PEOPLE. The Cravings cookbook author and her husband, John Legend, will be taking their four children - Luna, Miles, Esti, and Wren - to New York City for Christmas. Teigen says the family spent the holiday in the Big Apple in 2023 and found it "so beautiful" with plenty of activities for all ages.

For Thanksgiving, Teigen's family has a slightly unconventional meal. She hates turkey, so she usually nestles two chickens together to equal one turkey. However, with Legend's large family joining them, they've been using four chickens in recent years. But this year, Teigen says Legend recently bought a smoker, so he may take over the turkey duties.

Teigen will be making her mom's scalloped potatoes, and Legend "loves" making his mac and cheese, which are staples every Thanksgiving. As for gifts, Legend prefers simple items like a silk robe or a man bag, rather than elaborate presents.
