The two had been close friends since Hernan joined the show in 2021, but their relationship took a turn for the worse after Stause raised concerns about Hernan's on-again, off-again boyfriend, Blake Davis.
Stause claimed that when she first met Davis, she noticed "so many red flags" and felt he was not the right person for her friend. She expressed her worries to Hernan, fearing Davis would "isolate" her and become "controlling" and "extremely obsessive." However, Hernan ultimately chose to stay with Davis, even reconciling with him after a brief breakup.
The final straw came in May 2025, when Stause publicly accused Davis of using "the n-word" and other "problematic" language. Stause, a staunch advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, said she could no longer overlook Davis' behavior and that it had permanently damaged her friendship with Hernan.
