Chris Hemsworth has completed filming for 'Kockroach,' a crime film adaptation of William Lashner's 2007 novel. The movie's premise is a unique inversion of Kafka's 'The Metamorphosis,' where a cockroach awakens in a human body in mid-1950s New York City. This character, known as Jerry Blatta, must learn to navigate human life before rising through the criminal underworld to become a mob boss and eventually enter politics.
Hemsworth expressed significant enthusiasm for the project, calling the script "one hell of a wild" and stating that filming 'Kockroach' was "quite possibly the most fun" he has experienced on set. Directed by Matt Ross and written by Jonathan Ames, the film also stars Taron Egerton and Zazie Beetz. Behind-the-scenes photos suggest a strong mid-century noir aesthetic, with vintage cars and period settings, evoking classic crime cinema. A release date for 'Kockroach' has not yet been announced.
