Chris Evans is joining the cast of writer-director Elijah Bynum's crime-thriller, 'My Darling California.' The film is set in Los Angeles during the 1980s and promises to weave a complex narrative.
'My Darling California' will explore how a single crime impacts the lives of various individuals. These include a TV host, his wife, a country music idol, two small-time crooks, and an ex-con, all striving for a better future.
Joining Evans in the ensemble are acclaimed actors Jessica Chastain, Chris Pine, Mikey Madison, Charles Melton, and Don Cheadle. Filming is anticipated to begin in late summer or September.
Anton will finance the project and co-represent the film's rights alongside CAA Media Finance for both US and global markets. David Hinojosa, Alex Coco, and Sebastien Reybaud are producing, with Zach Nutman serving as executive producer. News of Evans' casting comes as he also prepares for his return as Captain America in 'Avengers: Doomsday', slated for release on December 18.
