Director-producer Paulo Nascimento is set to film "A Chocolate Christmas," a Portuguese-language romantic drama, in Gramado, Brazil, and New York City. Principal photography is scheduled for December 2026 in NYC and January 2027 in Gramado, a location renowned for its extensive Christmas festival, Natal Luz de Gramado.
The narrative follows Linda, a young woman who left Brazil for the U.S. after a heartbreak. Ten years later, a successful chocolatier in Manhattan, she is compelled to return to Gramado due to her father's health. Back home, she immerses herself in her family's chocolate business and finds herself drawn to her former boyfriend once more.
Nascimento highlighted the exceptional production value of Natal Luz, stating it offers significant scale without prohibitive costs. The festival's parades, shows, and concerts will be incorporated into the film. The movie is slated for a Christmas 2027 release in Brazil, distributed by H2O Films.
