Megastar Chiranjeevi recently appealed to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to reinstate the Nandi Awards, a state film award. Chiranjeevi made this request during the Telangana Gaddar Awards 2025 ceremony held in Hyderabad. He noted Chief Minister Naidu's close ties with the film industry, suggesting the revival would greatly benefit the sector.
The Telangana Gaddar Awards 2025 ceremony itself honored several prominent figures. Veteran actor Kamal Haasan received the Paidi Jairaj Film Award for Indian film personality. Actress Jayasudha was presented with the Akkineni Nageswara Rao Film Award for female artistes.
Further individual awards included Akkineni Naga Chaitanya for best leading actor and Rashmika Mandanna for best leading actress. These awards, launched by the Telangana government in 2025, replaced the Nandi Awards previously presented in unified Andhra Pradesh. The ceremony also featured performances by renowned artists.
