In a remarkable feat of artistic vision and determination, renowned Chinese fireworks artist Cai Guo-Qiang has realized his lifelong dream of creating the "Sky Ladder" - a dazzling display of pyrotechnic artistry that soared high above Huiyu Island Harbour in Quanzhou, China.

After two decades of trying, Cai's latest attempt in 2025 was a resounding success. In the early morning light, a giant white helium balloon slowly lifted into the sky, carrying with it a 502-meter-long ladder made of quick-burning fuses and golden fireworks.
