Further medical examinations uncovered additional health concerns, including a broken foot and a condition where a hole was found in his heart, possibly a patent foramen ovale. These issues required him to undergo multiple surgeries, necessitating a prolonged recovery period. Glover expressed that this health crisis prompted him to re-evaluate his life and prioritize living it as he truly desires.

The "The New World Tour" was intended to support his final album under the Childish Gambino name, "Bando Stone & the New World."
