Chelsea Handler's $5.9M Home Nightmare

Comedian Chelsea Handler has detailed a distressing experience with a $5.9 million Los Angeles property she purchased approximately five years ago. The home, bought anonymously through a private trust, was discovered to be in an "unlivable" and toxic state shortly after the transaction was finalized. Handler stated on her podcast that inspectors deemed the house a hazardous environment, advising against occupancy for at least two years. This prevented her from moving into the property since the purchase.

Further complications arose after initial renovations, when an "illegal" outdoor storage unit belonging to the previous owners, identified as RFK Jr. and Cheryl Hines, was found on the premises. This unit also had to be removed. Handler expressed her disbelief that the sellers would leave such significant issues unresolved and pointed to the irony of the situation given RFK Jr.'s role in public health. The situation remains unresolved for Handler, who has yet to inhabit the home.
