While she appreciates feminine fashion at times, her day-to-day aesthetic now leans masculine. This personal style evolution is not entirely met with approval by her daughters, who are reportedly not happy with her current look.

Despite her children's opinions, Theron is preserving a collection of her notable fashion pieces. She mentioned a "pretty good stockpile in the basement" intended for her daughters to wear later. On one occasion, one of her daughters wanted to wear a specific item for an event, but Theron advised it was for future use.

Theron also discussed her evolving approach to screen costumes, noting past frustrations with the over-sexualization of female characters and a desire for more control over her onscreen wardrobe. She has previously spoken about adopting a more relaxed style, citing her busy "Uber driver" lifestyle for her children as a reason for preferring low-maintenance routines.
