Charli XCX Electrifies Reading Festival with Career-Spanning Set

Charli XCX commanded the main stage at Reading Festival with a dynamic headline set, presenting her first UK festival performance since the release of her new album, 'Music, Fashion, Film'. This latest work marks a stylistic shift towards a rock edge, contrasting with her previous electronic-pop record, 'Brat'.

The performance masterfully showcased the evolution of her sound, featuring hits spanning her career. Audiences were treated to tracks from 'Brat', such as 'Club Classics' and 'Von Dutch', alongside newer material like 'Rock Music'. The staging was significantly elevated from previous tours, incorporating elaborate visuals, multiple costume changes, a live band, and dancers.

Earlier performances at the festival included Skepta, who braved downpours with his energetic set, and US rock band Geese, who drew a large crowd with their guitar-heavy tracks. Jamie T also made an appearance on the main stage, performing fan favorites. The festival is set to feature six major headliners, including Dave, Raye, Chase & Status, and Florence + The Machine, with these being their only UK festival appearances this year.
