Chappell Roan announced on Monday, February 9, 2026, that she has ended her professional relationship with the talent agency Wasserman. This decision stems from public outrage over the agency's founder and CEO, Casey Wasserman's, reported associations with convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell and child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

In a statement shared on Instagram, Roan emphasized her commitment to upholding high standards for her teams and her refusal to stand by while actions conflict with personal moral values. She asserted that artists deserve representation that aligns with their beliefs and ensures their safety and dignity, stressing the need for accountability and trust.

Roan's departure follows similar sentiments expressed by other artists. Bethany Cosentino of Best Coast, also represented by Wasserman, had previously called for Casey Wasserman to resign. Indie artists such as Beach Bunny, Dropkick Murphys, Wednesday, and Water From Your Eyes have also voiced their concerns, amplifying the pressure on the agency.

Recent revelations include the Department of Justice releasing additional files related to the Epstein investigation on January 30, 2026. These files reportedly uncovered further associations between Wasserman and Maxwell, including flirtatious emails exchanged in 2003. Wasserman had previously expressed deep regret for his correspondence with Maxwell, stating it occurred long before her crimes were known. He also clarified that he never had a personal or business relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, though he acknowledged attending a humanitarian trip on Epstein's plane in 2002.
