Summary
- Channing Tatum to reprise Gambit role in Avengers: Doomsday
- Tatum toning down Cajun accent at directors' request
- Gambit to have comedic moments despite accent changes

In the lead-up to the highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday, set for release in 2026, Channing Tatum has revealed that he's had to carefully navigate the Cajun accent of his character, Gambit, for the Marvel blockbuster.
Tatum first portrayed the mutant superhero in last year's Deadpool & Wolverine, where his Cajun accent was played up for laughs. However, for Avengers: Doomsday, the directors, Joe and Anthony Russo, have requested that Tatum tone down the accent, as they "want to keep the drama and keep it tight."
Despite the accent adjustments, Tatum has assured fans that Gambit will still have his fair share of comedic moments in the upcoming film. The actor elaborated, "It's been an interesting negotiation, but I think we've found a good balance."
Gambit is one of several X-Men characters confirmed to appear in Avengers: Doomsday, alongside the likes of Professor X, Magneto, and Cyclops. The mutant heroes will team up with the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and other characters to combat the new main villain, Doctor Doom, who has risen to power following the exit of Kang the Conqueror.
While the full cast of Avengers: Doomsday has not yet been announced, fans are eager to see how Tatum's Gambit will fit into the high-stakes plot of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's biggest crossover event yet.
